No stranger to daunting injuries, Tiger Woods figures his rehab struggles pale in comparison to the challenges overcome by girlfriend and ski racer Lindsey Vonn.

While the former No. 1 golfer returned from back ailments to finish tied for last at the Hero World Challenge over the weekend, Vonn was on the slopes recording a victory and a second-place finish at World Cup races in Canada.

“I’m not going to die in my sport,” Woods said, comparing golf to skiing. “It’s just scary how fast it is and how dangerous and how much focus you have to bring to the table.”

Vonn is coming back from multiple knee surgeries that kept her out of the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Two years had passed since her last World Cup victory.

“I’m finally feeling confident again going fast,” she said after a downhill victory at Lake Louise, Alberta, on Saturday. “I’m pushing the limits and I want more speed.”
