Baseball: Freshman Brice Turang starts season with eight hits in 12 at-bats

The hit parade continued on Wednesday for freshman Brice Turang of Corona Santiago. He had three more hits in a 13-2 win over Ontario Christian, making him eight for 12 on the season with eight RBI and seven runs scored.

Scouts from UCLA and Cal State Fullerton were on hand to see what all the fuss is about.

In other games:

Harvard-Westlake 4, Saugus 1: Cameron Deere struck out eight in five innings and Jake Suddleson hit a three-run home run and double to lead the Wolverines (2-0).

Hart 2, Loyola 1: Paul Richan threw six strong innings and Robert Reeves delivered the game-winning hit with the bases loaded in the seventh.

Moorpark 1, Kennedy 0: Dane Aguilar threw a five-hitter, striking out five and walking none for the Musketeers (2-0). Estevan Rodriguez had two of Kennedy's hits.

Chatsworth 8, Dos Pueblos 1: Andrew Renteria had three hits and Danny Hernandez allowed one run in five innings.

Camarillo 9, Chaminade 3: The Scorpions scored six runs in the eighth inning for the win.

Calabasas 6, Crespi 0: John Keller struck out nine in six innings and combined with Sammy Kaufman for a no-hitter. Greg Cromar, Nate Ryngler and Grant Nechak each had two hits.

Birmingham 3, Oak Park 2: Edgar Rivas contributed two hits and two RBI. Eduardo Rosales picked up the save.

Glendora 8, Colton 0: Ryan Beyer threw five shutout innings and Nick Kaye had two doubles and two RBI for the Glendora (2-0).

Westlake 3, Palmdale 0: Grant Bunker had two hits and two RBIs for Westlake. Daniel Davanzo threw six shutout innings.

Los Osos 4, Arcadia 3: Kyle Robeniol had three RBI for Los Osos.

Granada Hills 8, Paraclete 3: Matt Nash hit two home runs and finished with four RBI for the Highlanders (4-0). Chris Murphy struck out nine and walked five.

Valencia 9, Montebello 0: Scott Ogrin went three for four with six RBI for Valencia.

West Ranch 3, Thousand Oaks 0: Eric Williams threw 5 2/3 shutout innings and Jagger Rusconi had two hits for West Ranch.

Huntington Beach 7, Yorba Linda 0: Four Huntington Beach pitchers combined on a two-hitter. JJ Muratore, Hagen Danner, Cooper Moore and Daniel Amaral each had two hits.

Newbury Park 4, Burbank 2: Jeff Tincher had an RBI triple for the Panthers.

Cajon 8, Temescal Canyon 4: Teddy Albert went three for four with three RBI for Cajon.

Cypress 4, El Dorado 1: Dominic Fletcher had three hits for Cypress.

Crescenta Valley 5, Victor Valley 2: Jimmy Smiley struck out eight in five innings.

Verdugo Hills 6, Golden Valley 3: Marco Quintanar struck out eight in a complete game. Ivan Gonzalez went three for three with three RBI.
