The Atlanta Braves reacquired outfielder Michael Bourn in a trade Friday with Cleveland, also landing outfielder Nick Swisher while dealing third baseman Chris Johnson to the Indians in a swap of disappointing players.

Cleveland sent cash to the Braves as well, helping cover the hefty contracts of the two players coming to Atlanta that will give the Braves financial flexibility in 2017.

Bourn was acquired by the Braves at the 2011 trade deadline and made the All-Star Game the following season before signing with Cleveland as a free agent. The 32-year-old is hitting .246 with 19 RBIs and 13 stolen bases.

Giants put Leake on 15-day disabled list

San Francisco Giants right-hander Mike Leake was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring.

Leake (9-6), acquired from Cincinnati last week for two prospects, was scheduled to make his second start for the Giants on Friday against the Cubs. He was scratched in favor of Ryan Vogelsong after his hamstring tightened during routine sprints Monday at Atlanta.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have reinstated pitcher Chase Anderson from the 15-day disabled list in time to start Friday night against the Cincinnati Reds. Anderson was placed on the disabled list July 19 because of an inflamed right triceps. Arizona had optioned pitcher Allen Webster to triple-A Reno after Thursday’s game at Washington, opening a roster spot for Anderson. ... The Pirates announced that Major League Baseball has voided the Cleveland Indians’ waiver claim of right-handed reliever Deolis Guerra because of injury and Pittsburgh placed him on the 15-day disabled with left knee inflammation.
