Hot Property: Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach Tyronn Lue sells Vegas oasis
Tyronn Lue to New York is anything but a done deal, but he is on the move after selling his home in Las Vegas for $1.65 million.
The retired NBA guard and current Los Angeles Clippers coach is rumored to be on Phil Jackson’s short list of candidates to replace the fired Mike Woodson as head coach of the New York Knicks. Fellow Jackson disciples and Los Angeles Lakers alums Luke Walton and Derek Fisher are also expected to receive consideration for the position.
The gated compound, built in 1975, sits among mature palms on more than an acre with a swimming pool and spa, an outdoor kitchen and a full basketball court. The spacious 7,488-square-foot floor plan features marble flooring, a gourmet kitchen, a large family room with a sunken wet bar, an office, nine bedrooms and six baths.
Two separate basements house various multi-purpose rooms and a personal gym. Outdoors, a staircase on the side of the home leads to a private rooftop deck with a fireplace and views of the Las Vegas Strip. A 1,561-square-foot guest house with four bedrooms, two baths and a full kitchen also is on the grounds.
Records show that Lue paid $1.5 million for the property in December 2008.
Lue, 37, played 11 seasons in the NBA, including three seasons with the Lakers, where he was a part of two championship teams. He joined the Clippers as an assistant coach this past year after spending three seasons with the Boston Celtics as the director of basketball development.
