Skateboarder's beach house
In the 1980s, long before Pierre Andre Senizergues founded the footwear and apparel company Etnies, he was a skateboarder in Venice Beach, living out of a Ford Econoline van. Moving up meant a Manhattan Beach surf shack where he paid $50 a month to crash behind a sofa. Now 45, Senizergues finds himself in different shoes: owner of a waterfront home in Newport Beach. This is the first house I ever owned, he says. I wanted it to be me.
