In summer, the social scene can slow down, but red carpets were sizzling last week. Here are some of the eyecatching looks.

Charlie Hunnam looked sharp in a three-piece suit by John Varvatos at the Hollywood premiere of “Pacific Rim” on Tuesday.

“Pacific Rim” leading lady Rinko Kikuchi chose an embellished dress with slits up both sides of the skirt for the film’s premiere. The dress is from Fausto Puglisi’s fall 2013 collection.

Diane Kruger mixed two trends in the color-blocked dress with diaphanous skirt she wore to the Los Angeles premiere of FX’s new series “The Bridge” on Monday.
