‘Bombshell Bandit’ makes bomb threat during bank heist, FBI says
Investigators are looking for a woman dubbed the “Bombshell Bandit” who reportedly threatened to detonate a bomb during a Valencia bank robbery, FBI officials said Thursday.
The woman entered the Bank of the West in Valencia on June 6, passed a note to the teller and threatened to set off a bomb if her demands were not met, FBI officials said in a statement.
Officials said that after the woman allegedly robbed the bank, she fled the scene on foot.
Witnesses told investigators they saw her monitoring other banks in the area earlier that day.
She earned the nickname after making the bomb threat and wearing a “glamorous disguise,” including a brown or auburn wig and large sunglasses, FBI officials said.
Authorities described the woman only as 20- to 25-years-old, 125 pounds and 5-feet-3 with possibly black hair.
