In the Inland Empire, neighborhood outrage over crowing roosters caps a handful of measures in Riverside and San Bernardino counties that include a school bond proposal and the incorporation of a city.

Voters in Riverside must decide whether to restrict the number of roosters residents can keep in certain agricultural zones, and whether the kings of the roost must be kept in an “acoustical structure” from sunset to sunrise. Measure A would limit the number of roosters to seven, down from the 50 currently allowed.

The measure was deemed necessary because the city has become more urbanized. Another goal was to clamp down on illegal cockfighting.

Voters in the Wildomar area of southwest Riverside County will vote on whether to incorporate and elect a City Council. The community, home to about 30,000, is along Interstate 15 in a fast-growing area sandwiched between Lake Elsinore and Murrieta.

The San Bernardino County Community College District is asking voters to approve a $500-million bond measure for a career and job training facility. In the city of San Bernardino, voters have the power to trim their utility user tax from 7.83% to 7.75%.
