This new map will hurt Republicans because it will stretch Democratic districts in the west towards the east. This will allow the Democrats to use the base of support in the western part of their district to then conquer the more conservative part of their district in the east. Republicans will also have to deal with the fact that many of their new districts will have higher concentrations of Latinos, forcing some Republicans to pull back on the argument of deportation or criminalization of illegal immigrants; mainly, for the reason that Latinos, who are citizens, see that argument as anti-Latino not anti-illegal immigrant. That’s my two-cents!!!
