The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Afghanistan, the east African country of Djibouti and Iraq:

Dustin L. Canham, 21, of Lake Stevens, Wash.; lance corporal, Marine Corps Reserve. Canham died March 23 in a nonhostile incident in the east African country of Djibouti, where he was serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was assigned to the 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group in Portland, Ore.

George Delgado, 21, of Palmdale; private, Army. Delgado was among four soldiers who died Monday of injuries suffered a day earlier when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in south Baghdad. Their deaths brought to 4,000 the number of U.S. troops killed in the Iraq war. Delgado was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Joseph D. Gamboa, 34, of Yigo, Guam; staff sergeant, Army. Gamboa was killed Tuesday in a mortar attack on his unit in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany.

Andrew J. Habsieger, 22, of Festus, Mo.; private first class, Army. Habsieger was among four soldiers who died Monday of injuries suffered a day earlier when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in south Baghdad. Their deaths brought to 4,000 the number of U.S. troops killed in the Iraq war. Habsieger was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Christopher M. Hake, 26, of Enid, Okla.; staff sergeant, Army. William H. Jefferson Jr., 34, of Norfolk, Va.; technical sergeant, Air Force. Jefferson was killed March 22 when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Sperwan Ghar in southern Afghanistan’s Kandahar province. He was assigned to the 21st Special Tactics Squadron at Pope Air Force Base, N.C.

Joshua A. Molina, 20, of Houston; specialist, Army. Molina was killed Thursday when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany.

William R. Neil Jr., 38, of Holmden, N.J.; staff sergeant, Army. Neil was killed March 21 when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Sperwan Ghar in southern Afghanistan’s Kandahar province. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group at Ft. Bragg, N.C.

Thomas C. Ray II, 40, of Weaverville, N.C.; sergeant, Army National Guard. Ray was among three guardsmen killed March 22 when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1132nd Military Police Company in Rocky Mount, N.C.

Antione V. Robinson, 20, of Detroit; private first class, Army. A vehicle mechanic, Robinson was killed March 19 when the vehicle he was repairing collapsed in Nawa, Afghanistan, near the Pakistani border. He was assigned to the 782nd Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, N.C.

Jose A. Rubio, 24, of Mission, Texas; specialist, Army. Rubio was among four soldiers who died Monday of injuries suffered a day earlier when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in south Baghdad. Their deaths brought to 4,000 the number of U.S. troops killed in the Iraq war. Rubio was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Stewart, Ga.

Gregory B. Rundell, 21, of Ramsey, Minn.; specialist, Army. Rundell was killed Wednesday when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Taji, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Tyler J. Smith, 22, of Bethel, Maine; private, Army. Smith was killed March 21 by indirect fire -- a military term that usually refers to a mortar or rocket attack -- on Forward Operating Base Falcon southeast of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Ft. Stewart, Ga.

David S. Stelmat, 27, of Littleton, N.H.; specialist, Army National Guard. Stelmat was among three guardsmen killed March 22 when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1132nd Military Police Company in Rocky Mount, N.C.
