The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

Kyle Dayton, 22, of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; sergeant, Army. Dayton was killed in an explosion Monday when his unit responded to a logistics convoy accident near Iraq’s Anbar province, west of Baghdad, and one of the vehicles unexpectedly ignited. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, N.C.

Blair W. Emery, 24, of Lee, Maine; corporal, Army. Emery was killed Nov. 30 when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle in Baqubah, Iraq, northeast of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 504th Military Police Battalion, 42nd Military Police Brigade at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

Eric J. Hernandez, 26, of Waldwick, N.J.; sergeant, Army. Hernandez was among three soldiers who died after a roadside bomb exploded Tuesday near their vehicle in Baiji, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Matthew K. Reece, 24, of Harrison, Ark.; specialist, Army. Reece was killed Dec. 1 when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, N.C.

Adam P. Snyder, 26, of Fort Pierce, Fla.; captain, Army. Snyder died Wednesday at a combat hospital in Balad, Iraq, of injuries suffered a day earlier when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle in Baiji, Iraq, north of Baghdad. Two other soldiers were killed in the blast. Snyder was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Dewayne L. White, 27, of Country Club Hills, Ill.; private, Army. White was among three soldiers who died after a roadside bomb exploded Tuesday near their vehicle in Baiji, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Ky.
