The NBA draft is just 10 days away and the Lakers have not yet hired a new head coach.

One potential candidate to replace Mike D’Antoni came off the market as Derek Fisher agreed to coach the New York Knicks -- reuniting him with former Lakers coach and now Knicks President Phil Jackson.

Whether the Lakers missed out a potential opportunity or made the right choice not to aggressively pursue Fisher remains to be seen.

In the meantime, the team gave a second interview to Byron Scott.

The Lakers should yield a solid prospect with the seventh pick on June 26, but they don’t seem to have much of a chance to trade up in the draft.

Kevin Love, a potential trade target for the team, sounds like he doesn’t want to stay with the Minnesota Timberwolves -- but do the Lakers have the ammunition to acquire him?

Finally, the Lakers will tip off summer league play in Las Vegas on July 11 against the Toronto Raptors.
