Las Vegas: Nobu Hotel to check into Sin City

On the heels of the Cosmopolitan Hotel, which opened in December and added 2,995 rooms to Las Vegas, get ready for Nobu (yes, that Nobu), a new boutique hotel inside Caesars Palace.

On Monday, Caesars Palace and Nobu Hospitality announced a deal to design and build the world’s first Nobu-branded boutique hotel. The interior of the Centurion Tower at Caesars Palace will undergo a multimillion dollar renovation to create the 180-room Nobu Hotel, which will include a penthouse and 16 suites. The tower was built in 1970 and also has 180 rooms. The new hotel is at least a year away.

The interior design will reflect Nobu’s signature Japanese look and use natural materials. Nobu Hotel guests can order room service from Nobu’s acclaimed menu.

Nobu Hospitality has 25 restaurants on five continents. Trevor Horwell, chief executive of Nobu Hospitality, says the company has wanted to expand the Nobu brand into hotels, and when Caesars Palace approached, it was a good fit. “We want to offer guests what Nobu customers have come to expect -- inventive cuisine and a welcoming, fun, natural atmosphere with a lot of heart,” Horwell says.

Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and his longtime restaurant partners, actor Robert De Niro and movie producer Meir Teper, will contribute to the vision for the hotel property. Nobu Restaurant & Lounge will be the centerpiece of the boutique hotel spanning 9,500 square-feet at the base of the Nobu tower, near the existing Appian Way at Caesars Palace.
