The survey by Mercer ranks cities by the cost of more than 200 data points, including housing, food, transportation and entertainment. An incredible list. Two African nations made this list of the 10 most expensive cities. That may surprise people who consider Africa to be a mostly war torn, famine plagued continent. If those two cities, one in Chabon the other in Chad are so expensive where does the money go from tourism and to whom? Does the revenue benefit the citizens of those countries in any way?
Is New York City only less expensive for tourists? I'm certain a good percentage of the people such as myself who live here would beg to differ.
