Fullerton’s Eilefson to San Jose; Andros Is Out at Oregon State

Lynn Eilefson was named athletic director at San Jose State Wednesday.

Eilefson, 52, has been in a similar position at Cal State Fullerton since April, 1982. During his tenure, the Titans won the 1983 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. football championship and the 1984 College Baseball World Series.

Eilefson, a Billings, Mont., native and a graduate of the University of Montana, also worked in athletics at Montana State, UCLA and Fresno State.

Dee Andros will leave his position as athletic director at Oregon State effective Feb. 1, OSU President John Byrne announced.

Andros, 60, will be moved to a fund-raising job that will include a raise from his annual salary of $50,448 to $60,000.

Andros came to Oregon State as head football coach in 1965. He had a career coaching record of 62-80-2 at Idaho and Oregon State.

Andros resigned as football coach in 1975 after a 1-10 season. He was named athletic director by then-president Robert MacVicar. He replaced Jim Barrett.
