Asher B. Edelman of New York said he has no immediate plans to change his $416-million bid to acquire Datapoint Corp., despite Datapoint’s rejection of the offer. Datapoint said that, while it rejected Edelman’s current bid, it would consider alternate offers from Edelman or other suitors. Meanwhile, Continental Telecom Inc. confirmed that it has been talking with Edelman about Datapoint, a computer maker based in San Antonio. A source close to the situation said Continental Telecom was discussing the possibility of helping Edelman finance the Datapoint acquisition.
