10 New Cases of Kawasaki Syndrome Found in U.S.

Ten new cases of Kawasaki syndrome, a rare illness of unknown origin that causes serious cardiovascular complications in small children, were reported Thursday by the national Centers for Disease Control.

The CDC said there had been a total of 187 confirmed and 75 suspected cases of the disease nationwide. It primarily affects children under age 6.
