Federal hearings in Price, Utah, on the Dec. 19 Wilberg Mine fire that killed 27 workers were postponed until next Friday to allow time for a court test of a judge’s ruling that they could not be closed to reporters. U.S. District Judge David K. Winder on Thursday issued a temporary restraining order that said the Mine Safety and Health Administration must either admit a pool reporter to the hearings or discontinue them pending a hearing next Friday on a request by news organizations for a preliminary injunction.
