2 Taiwan Officers Doomed

TAIPEI, Taiwan —
Two policemen were sentenced to death and another jailed for life Wednesday for accepting bribes from imprisoned drug pushers to release them, court officials said. They said that 13 policemen and six drug pushers stood trial in one of Taiwan’s largest corruption scandals in recent years. One pusher was sentenced to death and others were jailed.
