China hopes to lure tourists to its ancient capital of Xian with camels, donkeys and concubines’ bathing pools in a Hollywood-style tourist complex.

The New China News Agency said these attractions are to be part of a $70-million recreation center modeled on a Hollywood movie and tourist complex, it said.

Visitors and film makers will also be able to see mock-ups of gates, towers, imperial apartments and nobles’ polo fields--all built in a city park.

Camels, donkeys and attendants in historical costumes will be on hand to serve directors and visitors, the agency said.

Three architectural complexes will mimic building styles from the Tang dynasty of 1,300 years ago to the Qing dynasty, which ended in 1911, the agency said.
