L.B. Library Given Grant to Establish Project on Literacy
LONG BEACH —
The Long Beach Public Library and Information Center has been awarded a $73,600 grant by the California State Library to establish Long Beach Project READ as part of the California Literacy Campaign.
The grant for the first six months of the project will provide staff members, materials, equipment and operational support to target functionally illiterate adults through a tutorial program.
