Apartments Hearing Set

Share

A public hearing on a controversial proposal for a 104-unit apartment development is scheduled Tuesday before the Glendale City Council.

Developer Marc Kogan is appealing a ruling by the Environmental and Planning Board that an environmental impact study be conducted on the project. The developer maintains the proposed development complies with city codes and that the costly study is not necessary.

More than 60 neighbors of the project site complained at earlier hearings that the development is not compatible with the area, would create overcrowding and exacerbate traffic problems. The site at 1905 Alpha Road in 1982 was deemed unsuitable for a proposed 52-unit condominium by the City Council and Planning Commission.

The hearing will be at 2 p.m. at the City Hall, 613 E. Broadway.
