The Salvation Army has expanded its facilities for housing San Diego’s homeless with the opening of a temporary men’s shelter in an annex of its downtown Central Services Building that accommodates up to 75. Space in the shelter is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with signups beginning at 10 a.m. Hot showers and a television lounge will be available between 8 and 10:30 p.m. The new is shelter is funded in part by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
