Inmates Suffer Frostbite; Prison Windows Repaired

BRAZORIA, Tex. —
Texas Department of Corrections officials Friday speeded the replacement of broken windows at a prison where three inmates suffered frostbite in 20-degree weather.
Officials are investigating the prisoners’ claims that guards ignored their complaints about injury from the cold and requests for more blankets, corrections spokesman Phil Guthrie said.
