A state appellate court has ruled that a person involved in a love triangle has no duty to warn one lover that the other lover may kill out of jealousy. The 3rd District Court of Appeal in Sacramento granted a request by Trinnie Lee Senteney, owner of a tavern in the Sacramento County town of Hood, to set aside a civil lawsuit stemming from a July, 1982, shooting. According to court records, Senteney was involved at the time with Gabino Carrillo, a married man, and Thomas Silva, who said he had served time in state prison for killing a man in “self-defense.” Silva killed Carrillo after finding him in Senteney’s bedroom, the court records said. Carrillo’s wife filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Senteney.
