The logistical part of the Israeli troop withdrawal from the southern Lebanese port of Sidon is largely complete, with most of the equipment and material moved farther south by truck, military sources in Tel Aviv said. Israel radio, meanwhile, reported that Israel has begun the personnel pullout by moving a border police unit, composed largely of Israeli Druze volunteers, south from Sidon to the port city of Tyre. There was no confirmation of the broadcast report. Israel is expected to complete the first phase of its three-stage withdrawal from southern Lebanon by Feb. 18.
