The full power testing program continued at Unit 1 of the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant after a defective gasket was replaced, company officials said. The gasket had allowed steam to leak in the plant’s non-nuclear turbine generator system, a spokesman for Pacific Gas & Electric Co., the plant’s owner, said. Unit 1 was at 1% of its capacity and once similar gaskets are checked, the unit’s power will be increased in preparation for further testing.
