Iran Celebrates Shah’s Ousting

NICOSIA, Cyprus —
Millions of Iranians filled Tehran’s Azadi Square today to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the overthrow of the late Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi by supporters of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency said.
In a report monitored in Cyprus, IRNA said more than 50 jet fighters and other military planes flew past, and helicopters scattered flowers over the throng.
