Peru Docks, Airports Snarled by Strikes

LIMA, Peru —
Government dock workers and airport employees walked off their jobs in separate strikes Wednesday, closing the country’s main ports and delaying airline flights.
It was the second wave of strikes this year by government employees seeking pay increases to counter 125% inflation. More than 500,000 state employees struck in a warning walkout last week, closing government ministries and slowing mail service.
