Archbishop John Roach apologized Saturday to the people of his St. Paul-Minneapolis archdiocese for his arrest on a drunken-driving charge.

Chisago County Sheriff Dave Ninnemann said Roach, 63, who was arrested Thursday night in east-central Minnesota, was booked after a breath test showed his blood-alcohol content in excess of 0.10%, the legal definition of intoxication in the state. He is to appear in court on March 12.
