Windemere Condos Get Grand Award

Windemere on the Green, an $85-million, 550-unit condominium community now in its second phase at 2559 Toledo St., Torrance, has won a grand award in the 1984 Builder’s Choice competition sponsored by Builder magazine.

Noting that Windemere was chosen from 754 entries, the judges said, “Windemere on the Green has everything a well-designed project should have. . . . Perhaps nicest of all are the large terraces, 100 to 150 square feet, that let residents enjoy the outdoors.”

The complex offers a number of floor plans with one and two bedrooms and den priced from $123,000 to $199,000 with below-market financing and down payments as low as 5%. Nine furnished models are open daily from 11 a.m. to dusk.
