A French medical relief organization said that two of its doctors and two of its nurses believed to have been kidnaped by Ethiopian secessionist rebels are, in fact, “safe and sound.” The four had gone to the northern Ethiopian town of Lalibela for a vacation, a spokesman for Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) said in Paris. Earlier, five French air force crew members who were briefly held captive by the rebels were freed unharmed.
