Moscow Area Fears Floods

MOSCOW —
Farmers in the Moscow area were warned Tuesday that they face potential serious flooding when this year’s unusually thick snow melts over the next month. Snow and ice covering parts of the Moscow river and its tributary, the Oka, are up to twice as deep as normal, the newspaper Leninist Banner said.
