Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak believing a “golden opportunity” exists to break the impasse in Mideast peace efforts, was greeted on his arrival in Washington by Secretary of State George P. Shultz. Mubarak will try to persuade President Reagan to support his recent Mideast peace initiative, which calls for the United States to talk with a Jordanian-Palestinian contingent as the first step toward renewing the stalled peace process.
