UCLA Gets Grant for Crohn's Disease Study

A $1-million gift to establish a research center for the study of Crohn's disease has been awarded to the UCLA School of Medicine by the Blinder Research Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to discovering, through research, the causes and cures of the disease.

The grant will provide a headquarters for medical experts from different fields to explore causes and investigate cures for Crohn's disease, a life-threatening ailment of the gastrointestinal tract that afflicts nearly 2 million Americans annually.
