headaches Divided Into Three Categories
The ailment that generates the most complaints to neurologists is the headache. Dr. David Marsh, professor of clinical neurology at the University of Rochester, places headaches in three major categories:tension, the most common type; vascular (blood vessel), including migrane and cluster headaches; and organic; the rarest and deadliest, caused by brain tumors or other serious disorders.
Organic headaches, says Marsh are rare. Tension headaches, caused by stress, can be treated by dealing with the cause of stress. Vascular headaches are treatable with drugs or , if caused by food allergies, by avoiding the offending foods.
