Redevelopment Project Starts in Costa Mesa
Ground was broken Thursday in Costa Mesa for The Courtyards, an $18-million downtown project that is first in the city’s redevelopment district, involving as investors the city, through the Redevelopment Agency, and Pacific Savings Bank.
The Courtyards, on 11 acres at 19th Street and Harbor Boulevard, will consist of eight one- and two-story buildings set among courtyards and graced with fountains, offering a total of 172,300 square feet of retail and office space.
Completion is scheduled for November, 1985. The architect-planner is David Klages Associates, the general contractor is Lusardi Construction Co. and the landscape architect is Emmet L. Wemple & Associates.
