American Medical International Inc. of Beverly Hills reported that earnings rose 30% for the second quarter ended Feb. 28. Gross revenues for the quarter rose 6% to $649.1 million from a year earlier. Royce Diener, chairman and chief executive officer, predicted that revenue gains will increase in coming quarters as a result of new marketing programs and several recent acquisitions. AMI owns and operates hospitals in California, 13 other states and the United Kingdom.
