As of July 1, the Robbins-McAllister Financial Responsibility Act will come into effect.

This act requires every driver to maintain proof of valid automobile liability insurance and to be prepared to show said proof if cited by a peace officer for a traffic violation.

This “mandatory insurance” sounds like a “mandatory rip-off.” Insurance rates right now are ridiculous. What is going to happen come July?

I hope another act is passed to regulate insurance rates or most of us won’t be able to back out of our driveways.
