AST Research, an Irvine maker of computer accessories, has signed a distribution agreement with Microamerica, the largest computer hardware distributor in the U.S. Under the agreement, Marlborough, Mass.-based Microamerica will handle AST’s entire line of board-level products for the personal computers manufactured by International Business Machines Inc. and Apple Corp.

The companies declined to reveal the value of the agreement.

Ducommum Electronics Group in Cypress, one of the country’s largest electronics distributors, has been selected by Emulex Corp. in Costa Mesa to handle the Emulex and Persyst lines of computer and communications products. The companies said they had not calculated the potential value of the agreement to either party.
