Lifeguard Applications Accepted:The Lifeguard Department is accepting applications for summer positions. A lifeguard swimming competition consisting of a 1,000-yard competitive swim, followed by a 600-yard run-swim-run event, is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. Saturday. Those who pass the swimming portion of the exam will be asked to fill out applications. Candidates should meet at the Seal Beach Lifeguard Headquarters, 888 Ocean Ave. Applicants must be 18 years old or a high school graduate by June 15. Other requirements include 20/40 vision, uncorrected, and a valid California driver’s license. Beginning pay is $6.82 per hour.
