Ban in Punjab Extended

NEW DELHI —
The government said Wednesday that it has extended for another four months the ban on foreigners in army-controlled Punjab state. The ban was imposed last June on the eve of the army assault on Sikh extremists in the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the holiest Sikh shrine.
