The Miami-based communications company filed a suit in U.S. District Court in New York to stop a group of dissident shareholders from seeking control of the company. The suit, which accuses the group of failing to properly disclose its plans, named as defendants Equitable Life Assurance and its investment banking division, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, plus the New Jersey investment firm of Gollust & Tierney. Keith Gollust, managing director of Gollust & Tierney, said: “We’ve not yet seen the suit, but, based on the press release, we think their claims are totally without merit.”
