ATHENS —
A man fired a bazooka shell at a Royal Jordanian Airlines passenger jet Thursday, hitting its tail as it prepared to take off but injuring no one, police said.
The Boeing 727 with 62 passengers and 13 crew members aboard was waiting on the runway for takeoff instructions when the man made his way to the tarmac and fired the shoulder-launched rocket.
Police said the suspect escaped.
The airline was forced to cancel the flight to Amman after the attack.
