The Spirit of Life award will be presented to Randall E. Presley Tuesday by the Orange County Construction Industries Alliance for the City of Hope at a Newport Beach Marriott Hotel dinner.

Presley has been responsible for the planning and construction of more than 160 residential communities. He is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the Presley Cos., based in Irvine, with building operations in Northern and Southern California, Albuquerque and Phoenix.

Beginning as a real estate broker and subdivider in Bakersfield after World War II, Presley moved into residential construction and founded Presley Development Co. in 1956. He moved it to Southern California in 1963, where it became known as the Presley Cos. and merged in 1984 with Pacific Lighting Corp.
