Who’s Doing the Fantasizing?

In reply to Barbara Snader, who does not believe in past-life memories, my dream recollection of being a slave in Egypt was not imagined. Not only was it unsolicited but it came after a group discussion in which I denied any feeling of identification with that country. It came that very night while I was asleep as if to say, “Yes, you were there as a slave.”

Who would want to imagine being a slave in Egypt? Barbara says, “If we are going to fantasize about past lives, I choose to be illustrious.” That’s normal if you need to feed your ego, but the question here is, who’s the one doing the fantasizing?

May I add that all of my past-life memories (and there have been more than several) were all relevant to present-life problems and situations. I have never fought such information consciously but it has always shed light on what was happening in my life. The connecting strands are the emotions and these memories are engraved in the deeper parts of the mind. Carl Jung affirmed in “Memories, Dreams, Reflections,” that “I could well imagine that I might have lived in former centuries.” Happy dreams, Barbara.
