An unemployed Canadian teen-ager was found guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court of second-degree murder in the beating-stabbing death last May of Lee Beaupre, 42, West Coast publicity director for 20th Century Fox Pictures. Joseph Mitchell, 19, testified that he attacked Beaupre with a frying pan, rolling pin and butcher knife last May 17 in Beaupre’s mid-Wilshire apartment while under the influence of drugs. A prosecutor said Mitchell told the jury that he had been living with Beaupre as his homosexual lover and became enraged when Beaupre threatened to throw him out.
