Severe Drought Hurts Crops in Bangladesh

DHAKA, Bangladesh — A severe drought has extensively damaged crops in northern Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Times reported Friday.
The Times, quoting residents and agricultural experts, said there had been no rain for four months and 300,000 acres of crops had been wiped out. An additional 100,000 acres were damaged, it said.
The paper listed the hardest hit districts as Rajshahi, Natore, Naogoan, Chapainawabganj, Bogra, Joypurhat, Pabna and Sirajganj.
