George Coffin Reopens His Family’s Firm
George H. Coffin III has reopened his family’s real estate firm in Newport Beach after a 16-year hiatus when he was a senior vice president of Investors Mortgage Insurance Co. of Boston.
The firm, Geo. H. Coffin & Son, was founded in 1893 by his grandfather and the current principal is the third of that name to head the company. Its office is at 3471 Via Lido, Suite 209, Newport Beach.
The third George Coffin was president of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors in 1980, president of the Pasadena Board of Realtors in 1959 (he established the Coffin firm’s Pasadena office in 1949) and president of Los Angeles chapter No. 1, Society of Real Estate Appraisers, in 1954.
