Thank you so much for the enjoyable article, “Weaving Jewish Tradition and the Textile Art Together” (by Michelle Markel, April 3). Your focus on the Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Needlework was most informative, accurate and descriptive of the spirit and talents of its members.

As one who has been associated with the Pomegranate Guild for several years and participated in its phenomenal growth and development in the Southern California area, I would like to add some data. Actually, one need not be female, Jewish or a talented stitcher to belong. We have male members (albeit very, very few), Christian members and non-sewing members. An interest in the important role of the textile arts in Judaism and/or any level of expertise with the needle will qualify people for membership.
